“The alternative
subculture,” he said. “Let’s go for dark lipstick. That should make a statement.”
He went on and on. Dark
this, dark that. He talked mostly about make-up.
“Let’s be dark and
alternative,” he said enthusiastically.
Everyone nodded.
“The issue is dark
has been around since the beginning of time. Dark is not alternative and…”
someone said from the back of the room.
“Oh, come on, dark
lipstick is!”
“But last week we
decided that what was cool was…”
“What is wrong with
you?! Why are you creating so much fuss over this simple issue?! Lipstick! That
is it. It’s decided. Does everyone agree?”
Everyone nodded.
“But… I am allergic to…”
“Right, the meeting
is adjourned and don’t forget to bring your dark lipstick next week. The darker,
the better!”
“Will we be covering pink lipstick too…?”
