She ran as
fast and as far as she could. Blindly, she turned corners, ran through
alleyways and unknown patios. People stared at her from verandas. Children
stopped playing as she slowed down past them, her heart pounding. She had to
get out of town. As crazy as it sounded, she decided to call Stephen.
